Why to Invest in Cyber security Landscape
For the last few years, different verticals of Industries is investing in this area as cyber criminals were trying to attack in different ways and steal the most important information. I think it is not the case as attackers are largely creatures of opportunity seeking the path of least resistance. Enterprises need to address this as their financials and reputation will depend on it.
We are facing different factors driving the cyber security growth across industries. One of the factors is that as technology advances and we are more connected than ever before. Many factors that may cause the increase in cyber threats is due to technology evolution and majorly by use of Smart Phones, Social Media, IOT, cloud usage, and digitization.
Cyber Security in 2020 will be adaptations of existing crimes to the technological developments of the next five years. Also, new challenges will emerge. One of the news that I heard that Japan will train thousands of Professional for Cyber Security before 2020 Olympics.
As the Cyber Security landscape continues to grow in both complexity and footprint, security spending is rising as well, according to some consolidated analyst figures.
The worldwide cyber security market is set to be worth $75.4 billion in 2015, a number that is expected to reach $101 billion in 2018 (Gartner) and $170 billion by 2020, translating to a CAGR of 9.8% from 2015 to 2020.
There are many segmentation which can fall in cyber security Landscape but highlighting some of the solutions such as
- Identity and access management.
- Endpoint Management.
- Security Information and Event Management.
- Advanced Persistent Threats.
I think awareness need to be increased about the advantages and benefits of a career in cyber security. Not only who have adopted this profession but with those as well who are studying in universities and become the part of the cyber security workforce in future. In my opinion with the evolving needs and the complexities of cyber security it’s time to take an action to learn, grow and adopt it.
